外国人のためのに避難用に翻訳されたものです。お知り合いがいたら送って下さい

【 Dear People from Overseas in the Stricken area 】

There are still risks of secondary damage so please keep the following points in your mind, especially the last one “When you go to the Stricken Area”. Safety has to be guaranteed above all else so do help each other.

[At Night]

When a devastating earthquake hit the west part of Japan (Hanshin-Daishinsai), deterioration happened after the quake, taking advantage of the panic. Please make sure your family, friends and all around you are safe. If you are alone, get contact with someone you know and try to be with him/her or join a group that stays around you.

[If you are a Woman]

NEVER go to the toilet ALONE! There might be a sex offender. Don’t act just on your own and try to be with others.

[If you have a Baby]

Put something on your baby’s head to protect it. When the Hanshin-Daishinsai happened, there was a baby who died, hit by a TV blown by the strong wind.

[Telephone]

Try NOT to use your mobile phone as much as possible if you are not in emergency. Others may really need to contact the police and the hospital.

[When Earthquake Happens]

Open the window. Fill your bathtub with water if you are at home. Cook rice if possible.

If the power supply gets cut off, put all your breaker switches off whether you leave home or not in order to avoid the fire. After the power failure ends, start with a smaller amperage switch and put them on one by one. If there is something wrong like a short circuit, let the power company know and wait for their help.

Turn off the gas at the mains. If a room get full of gas, even a static electricity can set fire.

Keep drinking water with you.

If the Internet is available to you, check where a shelter is and which is the nearest.

NEVER go by the ocean. You might be struck by a tsunami.

If you have a car, please check if your car has a jack used to change tires. It would be very useful to help those who got buried under a broken building or a tree. If you have one, please make it available.

Even if you are inside, make sure you were your shoes on.

When you go outside and go to a shelter, bring some newspaper or magazines with you. If you put some on your head, it would be used in place of a helmet. It will also keep you warm like a blanket and can be used as shoes as well.

[When you go to the Stricken Area]

NEVER USE YOUR CAR! If someone around you is trying to do this, please stop him/her. It will cause a traffic jam, which will be an obstacle for the supply of backup in need.

Good Luck and take care your self to ! be safe
